Lido 14 4554 Complete Restoration
Manufactured in 1979
This boat had been previously raced hard and then stored for over 10 years. It was ready for a complete restoration. Boat needed a lot of repair to the tanks, centerboard trunk, and bottom. The owner wanted it race ready and new Gresham rudder and centerboard installed and all aluminum parts re-anodized .
To begin the restoration, the blue paint needed to be sandblasted to bring the inside back to the original color. Everything was removed from the boat, blocks, old jib tracks, and all aluminum hardware.
The boat has come back from the sandblaster and now is ready to fix all fiberglass issues, including the top of the stern that has become open and can easily absorb water.
Next the inside of the boat was re-gel coated to the original color, decks and bottom repaired and polished, top of stern fiber glassed, wood repaired, sanded and re-varnished.,
Next is the installation of all new rigging, blocks, boom vang, main and jib halyards, Gresham centerboard and rudder, centerboard supports, new job cleats, hiking straps, and mast tuned.
And finally, the new owner successfully takes it out sailing for the first time!
